Unable to play m4a files in Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 10

i cant play m4a file(supposedly mpeg-4).i have no problem playing mp3 ,wav etc. MS WMP was supposed to in WMP 12.

Is this a file from Apple iTunes?
Have you already tried to play another m4a file? As the file may be damaged, or it’s something not compatible inside the m4a container.
Can you play the file with Movies & TV app?

Download and install K-Lite Codec pack. Reboot.

Hello, I installed K-Lite Codec pack and I rebooted but it still don’t work for me.

Windows Media Player 12 in Windows 10 includes the ability to play .m4a audio files.
Right-click on the Start button and select Settings.
In Settings scroll down and select Update and Security.
In Update and Security select Troubleshoot in the left-hand menu.
In Troubleshoot select Troubleshoot Audio.
